About Believers' Scholarships

We are proud to announce that we have given out over $25,000 in Believers' Scholarships

The Believers Scholarship Program is an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children through the arts, including dance, sports, theater, and music. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to explore their talents and develop their skills in a positive, friendly, and professional environment. Through participation in these activities, children learn self-discipline, commitment, teamwork, leadership, and communication while building confidence, self-esteem, and a strong sense of accomplishment. We believe these valuable, transferable skills can benefit children throughout their lives and prepare them for success in any career path. There are numerous career opportunities in dance, sports, theater, and music. In dance, individuals may pursue careers as performers, instructors, choreographers, or dance notators. In sports, opportunities include athletes, coaches, trainers, sports administrators, and other professionals in the sports industry. Theater offers careers in acting, directing, playwriting, stage management, set and costume design, lighting, and technical production. Music provides opportunities in singing, instrumental performance, composition, conducting, teaching, and music production. Beyond performing, these industries also offer careers in community arts, program development, event promotion, producing, public relations, marketing, design, technical production, physical therapy, sports medicine, creative therapies, writing, and education. Each scholarship recipient will be mentored by their teachers and the company's administration, who will provide guidance, encouragement, and support to help them remain focused and committed to achieving their dreams. We aim to nurture each child's individual talents while teaching the importance of perseverance, responsibility, teamwork, and giving back to the community. Scholarship recipients will be encouraged to give back by assisting other students at their respective schools, serving as positive role models, and participating in our outreach programs. Through these efforts, they will have the opportunity to inspire and support other children, extending the same encouragement, opportunities, and resources that The Believers Dance Scholarship has provided them. Our mission is to empower children through the arts and athletics, helping them discover their potential, pursue their passions, and build a foundation for lifelong success. The Believers Dance Scholarship is a company that is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children through the art of dance. Administration

JANICE VERONE FOUNDER/DIRECTOR Janice began teaching dance and gymnastics while still in high school, inspiring boys and girls to believe that with hard work, commitment, and passion, they can make their dreams come true. She approaches every class with enthusiasm, compassion, and a love of learning. With a strong understanding of discipline and classroom management, Janice is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people by encouraging them to explore their talents and reach their full potential through dance, sports, music, and theater. Janice's vision for the Believers' Scholarship Program extends beyond providing financial assistance to young people pursuing their passions. She strives to instill the values of dedication, perseverance, a strong work ethic, and a love of life—qualities that were instilled in her by her mother, who was her first dance teacher, dear friend, and a valued member of the JDW staff. These lessons continue to inspire Janice's commitment to helping young people grow, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed both on and off the stage, in the classroom, and in life. As Director of the Believers' Scholarship Program, Janice oversees all aspects of the Scholarship Fund, including financial management, recipient selection, event planning, and the development and coordination of outreach programs. Through her leadership and dedication, she works to create opportunities for children to pursue their interests in the arts and athletics, discover their potential, and experience the lasting benefits of commitment, teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence.

KIMBERLY PIKE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Kimberly began dancing at age four and was trained in all genres of dance at a local dance studio. Kim successfully completed a rigorous teacher’s training program which included both class time and internships and has been teaching dance and acro for the past 20 years. Over her years of dancing, Kim performed with a traveling dance troupe, who provided community service in Delaware County; she would volunteer her time to entertain the community at local malls, nursing homes and civic events during the holiday season. She was also a member of an award winning Competition Team that attended both regional and national dance competitions, including Star Power, Company Dance, and New York City Dance Alliance. She has also performed in Walt Disney World alongside a small group of Rocekettes and her favorite Disney original character Goofy. Kimberly attributes much of her success to “hard work” and “dedication” and she has always been truly excited to share her love of dance and performance with all of her DanceWorks students. Kim is excited to be part of the Believers' Scholarship Program, serving as both a teacher and Assistant Director. Her dedication and willingness to go above and beyond are invaluable to the program's success. She works tirelessly to communicate with participating schools in our outreach program and coordinates the T-shirt and ticket sales for our annual benefit, helping ensure the program runs smoothly. Kim also plays an important role in organizing, managing, and teaching the Believers' special needs classes. In addition, she helps keep the public informed about upcoming events, classes, and scholarship recipients by sharing stories, photos, and videos that highlight the program's impact. Kim also assists in reviewing scholarship applications and essays, working closely with Janice to determine the most appropriate scholarships for each recipient. Her commitment, compassion, and dedication to supporting our students and families make her an essential part of the Believers' Scholarship Program.
